It is believed that a simple glimpse of the Jyothirlinga is a soul cleansing. The deity is known as Vishwanath ruler of Universe. The temple was demolished by Aurangzeb and rebuilt by maratha ruler Ahilyabai Holkar in 1780.
The Kashi Vishwanath temple attracts Hindu devotees and other visitors not only from India but also from all over the world. Lord Vishwanath is considered as supreme repository of the spiritual truth and strengthens the bond of universal brotherhood. The visit to the temple and bath in river Ganges is believed to lead one on a path of Moksha.
It is the main ghat at Varanasi, where Ganga Aarti is performed by a group of priests just after sunset. The priests wear similar dress and perform aarti by carrying deepam in rhythms of bhajan.
Through the aarti Agni pooja is performed in which a commitment is made to the Lord Shiva, Mata Ganga, Surya, Agni as well as the whole universe made by Lord Shiva.
Ganga aarti is a magnificent event during the evening in Varanasi. This ritual makes every moment of the evening period special and fills with spiritual thoughts.
Triveni Sangam Prayagraj
Triveni Sangam is the confluence of three rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. The two rivers Ganga and Yamuna are visible and can be identified with their different colours, whereas Saraswati river is believed to lie underneath.
The point of confluence is considered as sacred place for Hindus. It is believed that one who takes bath here all his sins are washed out and free from cycle of rebirth.
At this place kumbh mela is held after every 12 years. Millions of people gather here to take bath. As per mythological legend drops of nectar fell here during samudramanthan.
Chitrakoot holds great importance according to Hindu mythology and the epic of Ramayana. It is the place where Lord Rama, Sita and Laxmana stayed during their exile for eleven and half years. At Chitrakoot Bharata brother of Lord Rama came to visit Ram and asked him to come back to Ayodhya and rule the kingdom. It is also believed that Lords Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva took incarnation here.
The mountain range of Chitrakoot has numerous places of great religious importance like Bharat milap temple, Hanuman dhara Janaki Kund and many more. Goswami Tulsidas also spent many years of his life here.
Chitrakoot is a perfect blend of divinity, serenity and an exquisite beauty.
